ABOUT

The ASEAN Digital Awards recognise outstanding digital achievements among key stakeholders in ASEAN. Formerly known as the ASEAN ICT Awards, it has been rebranded as the “ASEAN Digital Awards” to acknowledge the utilization of emerging technologies, including AI and data, within the ASEAN digital economy. These awards celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of organizations, businesses, and individuals who have pioneered innovative products or services, contributing significantly to the region’s digital landscape. Additionally, the awards aim to inspire and foster innovative endeavours among individuals, each of whom plays a vital role in shaping ASEAN’s digital future. This initiative aligns with ASEAN’s ongoing endeavours to remain pertinent in the rapidly evolving digital realm and realise our shared vision to be a leading digital community and economic bloc, powered by secure and transformative digital services, technologies and ecosystem.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the criteria for entry submission?
    A. Company Eligibility Companies which are eligible to nominate their innovative product, service or programme must meet the following criteria: 1.The company must be locally registered in the respective AMS. 2.The company can be 100% locally owned. 3.For joint ventures between a local company and a foreign company, the foreign company in the joint venture can be either a company registered in another AMS or a company registered outside ASEAN whereby the shareholder/s within AMS must hold at least 51% of the total shares. B. Product Eligibility The eligible product for ASEAN Digital Awards 2025 entry nomination must meet the following criteria: 1. The intellectual property (IP) rights for the product must be owned by company which is eligible to nominate according to the company eligibility guideline in Section 2, part A, or its IP rights are owned by an offshore parent of the local company where the majority of the shares are in the local company. 2. At least 51% of product development efforts (including research and development (R&D), and design) must be undertaken in/ done within the AMS submitting the application. C. Nominations Not Eligible for Entry The following are non-eligible innovations for entry nomination: 1. A product of which the main R&D and design efforts are executed in a non- ASEAN Member State, or of which the AMS is merely providing code-cutting services. 2. An innovation or product with or without enhancement, which has won an ADA in the one (1) year period before the current competition.
  • How many winners are there for the ASEAN Digital Awards 2025?
    There are 18 winners across 6 product categories and the top 3 winners from each category will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals respectively. The 6 categories include: 1. Public Sector: Digital products, services or programmes which are public-sector related, such as e-government. 2. Private Sector: Digital product, service or programme that serves the needs of the private sectors such as industrial application, e-logistics and supply chain management, finance industry application, communication, e-Health, tourism and hospitality, etc. 3. Digital Inclusivity: Digital products, services or programmes which empower citizens/consumers to participate in the digital economy and society, through equipping them with the skills, motivation and opportunities to harness the power of digital technology and to go online safely. 4. Digital Content: Digital products and/or services which are related to the process of combining text, sound, pictures and videos to create a diversion that holds the attention (i.e. entertainment) in the form of multimedia, infotainment, immersion and interaction such as mobile apps, video game, television broadcasting, radio broadcasting, cinema, live entertainment, publishing, newspaper, and internet news. 5. Digital Startup: Digital companies at an early stage of inception (i.e., with commercialized product(s) or with a minimum viable product (MVP) which embrace digitalization and technological advancement to improve productivity, revamp business models and raise overall living standards amongst citizens/ consumers to deliver social and economic impact. 6. Digital Innovation: Digital products, services or programmes arising from tertiary and research institutions, which promote innovation as a key competitive advantage to create outstanding impact on the way businesses operate or greatly enhance the quality of lives for end users
  • When will the final judging for the ASEAN Digital Awards 2025 take place?
    The final judging for the ASEAN Digital Awards 2025 will be held on January 16, 2025, at the Anantara Riverside Bangkok and Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotels in Bangkok, Thailand.
